The Colca Canyon is the 2nd deepest canyon in the world, and we chose to come and see it over the salt flats in Bolivia, by the end of the day we wished we hadnt!No Worries, said the man who had been an engineer on the water race programme 20yrs ago, piece of cake......
The view, was spectacular(the Condors were flying, whilst we were still making the most of bfast) oh well
We took the loop(250ks) and it turned out to be all at altitude(which the bikes fuel pump hated) and on dirt road which the air filter got upset about,
The sun is going down, along with our petrol reserve, NOBODY on this loop track, major altitude climbs and we are seriously nervous, about half a litre of water on the bike(that coffee earlier has left a bitter taste)........
Relief, finally arrive miles from where we thought we would end up and its seriously dark outside, The Palace Hostal is a better than any luxury lodge!!
