Colombia

As we left the flats and headed to the mountains it was obvious we were in for not only a long day but a spectacular one also

This road was very rough and tough going with pot wholes and large sections washed away so you had to stay on top of you game at all times but the scenery was hard not to look at all the time

Then at the top of the pass which was 7000ft we talked to our last out post of military which always waved to us every time with smiles from ear to ear. These guys where very friendly until we took their picture so I decided they just needed to look tough fro the camera, but they were amazing.....

  1. Hi gorgeous, well, i am glad that those soldiers only LOOKED tough, or you could have been in for a rough time!! We should send the 'overzealous' Wanaka cops out there for a stint, they may learn a thing or two like restraint! Its obviously going to be a sad day leaving Colombia, and all ready hard having to part with Fernando, but onwards and upwards, literally... and there is still alot more adventure to be had. The blogs are great for us to see the realism of where u are, and that was certainly present regarding the bikes on the boat,, i guess i thought it was a bigger boat than that, and the bikes would be in the hold somewhere! It looked a bit epic getting them on...i When i googled the pictures of the road you were on heading to Medellin, there was a one lane, rickety looking bridge just wondering if that was indeed on the route? Ciao for now and always tuning into the blog(even if i dont always comment).Love ya Cath xx
